This knowledge will help him or her choose a particular form of meditation to practice at any condition or time. Other benefits that comes from understanding these forms of meditation is the facts that; this knowledge will enable you to feel the impact of meditation practices better than when you are a novice.

Over the years, people have developed different types of meditation. Recently we can comfortably say that there are numerous types of meditation practices. It is really very important to note that meditation does not have much to do with the form or the practice one is adopting, it has greater things to do with the feeling of the mind and the willingness of an individual to open up his or her self to attain a spiritual connection.

All the forms of meditations are built with the same perception, which is focus, concentration, openness and the ability to free the mind. This is why I said that meditation depends less on the forms of practice but more on the personal factors that affects meditation.

Different forms of meditation

Transcendental meditation:

This is an age-old pattern of meditation, which is simple and commonly practiced by many. The practice of transcendental meditation demands that one sits in a comfortable position, normally crossing the legs. It is expected that he or she closes the eyes and tries to concentrate or focus in connecting the mind.

Vipassaria meditation:

This form of meditation was taught and used by people as a practice to heal the body and the mind. It was introduced by Buddha. Vipassaria meditation is basically practiced for spiritual or religious purposes.

Zen meditation:

This is another meditation practice which is common to many. The purpose behind this type of meditation practice is calming the mind and the body. This is achieved by putting the mind in a subconscious mood or state. Focusing on your heart beat will slow the rate at which it beats. In doing this, the thoughts you have in your mind starts to go away one after the other. With this concept, one can attain a perfect Zen meditation practice.

Mindful meditation:

This is a simple meditation practice. The difference in this meditation practice is the factors it is built on. Mindful meditation teaches one to reflect about life and the natural thing which one can not influence. In practicing this type of mediation, the mind of an individual reflects about life and death or any symbolical factor of human existence.

While practicing this, the mind is set in an endless and clueless journey; this journey torments the heart for a while and finally brings peace to the mind. The secret of practicing this meditation type is selfless thoughts and acceptance of the will of nature.

Taoist meditation:

It is considered to be more practical compared to other meditation practices. The intentions behind Taoist meditation are circulation of energy, transformation and generation of stress free mind. It is based on breath control mechanism. An individual is expected to focus on his or her breathing, and also the contraction of the stomach walls. Taoist meditation is basically used to enhance the concentration and focusing ability of an individual.

There are other forms of meditation practices, but one thing that should be on the mind of one practicing meditation remains; there is no best way or form of practicing meditation. It can be considered suitable for an individual if it comfortably fits into his or her line of emotional thinking.
