How to do simple mantra meditation?

There are many different techniques and forms of meditation but ultimately all have the same goal. Any one can choose whichever method is suitable and comfortable for him or her. A mantra meditation is another method of meditation by repeating a word or phrase over and over again.

If you are not sure of how to start a mantra meditation here are few instructions on how to do a very simple mantra meditation which has really worked for many people:

Step one: Find the right location which is calm and without any disturbance:

As you get more and more practiced and fully stabilized, then you can meditate any time at any place. But for the first time it’s important to get the right location to meditate for 10-20 minutes without any distraction. Find the place which is quite calm and peaceful.

Step two: Sit Comfortably:

Until and unless you sit comfortably you can’t devote peacefully. So it’s always best to find the right position to sit comfortably as much as possible and then relax.

Step Three: Better close your eyes to avoid distraction:

If you can, always open your eyes and meditate. But for the first time it is better to close your eyes and breath normally without holding your breath.

Step Four: Use this simple word AM ” to start mantra meditation

:

  • Here the reason behind the word AM is that, it is the same as I am” where I” is implied
  • Now focus on the word AM not about AM but think AM. Then feel AM filling you.
  • Concentrate on how you are feeling now as the AM being into you as long as you can or till it really works.

Step Five: Experience the feeling of AM by stop thinking the word now:

Now stop thinking the word while you are feeling the AM being into you and find out the truth about you. Experience this feeling for as long as possible.

Step Six: Return to thinking:

Now come back to thinking of the word AM, then take a deep breath and slowly open your eyes.
