Breathing Meditation

The root cause of stress and tension is our unsettled mind. Not only this, our disturbed mind is the cause of many of our health problems. However, the intensity of these problems can be easily reduced through a technique known as Breathing Meditation.

Just by doing breathing meditation for ten or fifteen minutes each day, we will be able to calm our mind and reduce stress. Breathing Meditation enables us to experience a spacious feeling in the mind, and brings an end to most of our problems, which are caused due to a disturbed mind.

Difficult situations will become easier to deal with. We will naturally feel warm and well disposed towards other people, and our relationships with others will gradually improve.

Here are a few ways which will enable you to experience the benefits of this technique.

  • Choose a quiet place to meditate and sit in a comfortable position
  • The most important thing while seated in a comfortable position is to keep your back straight, in order to prevent your mind from becoming sluggish or sleepy.
  • Close your eyes partially and turn your attention to your breathing.
  • Breathe naturally through the nostrils. Do not try to control your breath. This enables you to be aware of the sensation of your breath as it enters and leaves the nostrils
  • Your concentration on your breath calms the incessant flow of distracting thoughts, and the mind becomes unusually lucid and clear.

Breathing meditation is effective from the preliminary stage of its practice. One can easily experience inner peace and contentment through Breathing Meditation, which helps one control the mind, in any kind of situations.
